Graham Lilley Memorial Tournament

When Graham Lilley died last September, the club lost a tennis fanatic, a keen competitor and friend to many. An annual tennis tournament is a fitting tribute to Graham. On Saturday 19th May the grass courts opened and the sun shone enabling us to hold the first Graham Lilley memorial tournament.

Twenty eight members signed up to play, Liz did a superb job organising those of us who were never sure if we were meant to be moving on up a court, or going back to where we started!

An enjoyable day of friendly competitive tennis was enjoyed by all; with Pat Smith lifting the trophy.

Graham's dad, Harry, who has kindly donated the Graham Lilley trophy, rounded off the day with a few words about Graham, reminding us of his love of tennis and how much he is missed.

Thanks to Graham's family for supporting the event, to all who participated and to Liz for making it happen.
