BCC 1st squash team win Top Division

I am pleased to announce that Bromley Cricket Clubs Men's 1st squash team have won the Kent Priory Division 1 league.

This is a fantastic achievement and the first time Bromley Cricket has ever achieved this.

The team have been challenging for the last few seasons missing out twice on the last match of the season, so there was a real focus to ensure nothing was left riding on the last game. With this in mind we took on 2nd place Bexley in our second to last match knowing we needed to gain as many points as possible. The team did just that and the win was so convincing that the title was ours with no team able to catch us, even with one more match to play. Nevertheless a full squad travelled to Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday for the last game of the season and secured full points to see the title claimed with no less than 32points ahead of our closest competitors.

This achievement is really important in ensuring Bromley Cricket Club continues to have a reputation for top level competitive squash, and hopefully will provide a platform to reignite the ambitions of creating a strong junior section.

So thank you to the team;
Neil Baker, Lewis Ryall, myself obviously, Sam Stabler and our super squad additions Matt Horder and Chris Butler.

...and thank you to some of our most regular supporters: Tony, Hugh, Nick, Phil, Graham, Gary, and Trevor

Our winter season starts on the 13th October, with games every Tuesday from 20:00. We always welcome the support and will be looking for a more convincing start than Chelsea have managed in our attempt to retain the title!!!

James McMeckan (men's 1st captain)
