Bromley Kestrels Under 11 were narrowly defeated by Beckenham last week in the semi-final of the Under 11 Harry Bright Cup, losing by just 9 runs.

Batting second and chasing 88 the Kestrels got off to a solid start with Vish Parakirama stroking a majestic 20 before having to retire. From there on in whilst keeping up with the run rate, wickets were falling steadily and with 3 overs remaining The Kestrels were precariously poised on 78-7 and 11 runs were required for victory.

Sadly for The Kestrels, Beckenham’s Dylan Hoad took charge. Having conceded just 1 run in the first 3 deliveries of his final over, which included another run out, he put an end to The Kestrels hopes, dismissing the final two batsmen in consecutive deliveries and finishing with impressive figures of 2.5 overs 3 for 4.
